During March 2018 we installed NOVAPs at young lime trees where we converted irrigation from 90L/h micro’s to 8L/h NOVAP irrigation. We divided the block down the middle and converted one half to NOVAP irrigation and left the other half as the control. (90L/h Micro)
On average the trees under micro irrigation gets 270L/week/tree and the trees under NOVAP irrigation 48L/week/tree. We revisited the orchard today to monitor general tree health and growth.
During our August inspection we saw significant differences, not only general flush on the trees, but also fewer weeds as well as a more uniform growth at the NOVAP irrigated trees.
